WASHINGTON (AP) -- The WNBA has a new television contract with ESPN/ABC. It's a landmark deal that will give the league rights fees for the first time.
The eight-year pact, which will also include rights for digital media, begins in 2009 and goes through 2016 -- the league's 20th season. The current six-year contract expires at the end of next season.
The digital rights include the ability for the networks to broadcast live games and other content on digital media, including the Web and mobile TV.
