(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Oklahoma House Speaker Larry Adair says a vote on whether to examine the possible impeachment of Insurance Commissioner Carroll Fisher could come as early as next week.

Adair says a hearing could be scheduled Tuesday if bill sponsors Fred Morgan of Oklahoma City and John Trebilcock of Broken Arrow are ready to present it.

The measure would create a committee to examine whether lawmakers should pursue the impeachment of Fisher.

The resolution calls for Adair to appoint the committee. The House Speaker says he would pick a bipartisan committee and would choose very carefully who would serve on the committee.

Fisher faces four felony counts related to operating a charity illegally and embezzling insurance education money.
