Tulsa's newest bowling alley opens at Eastland Mall

A new bowling has opened up in Tulsa. This oneâ€™s located at Tulsaâ€™s Eastland Mall.

News on Six reporter Rick Wells stopped in to give us a look at the newest place to find strikes and spares.

This going to the mall to bowl sounds like fun. Thatâ€™s what the folks here at Mickey's are hoping, hat going to Eastland Mall to bowl will interest lots of us. General manager, Shirley Dennis: "We just want everybody to come out and enjoy the sport of bowling, but out here one of the benefits is the smoke free." Yeah, imagine a smoke free bowling center.

They opened New Year's Eve and they say the response has been good. "A lot of bowlers are just happy there's a new center open in town." In recent years more bowling centers have closed than opened. The fact that it's at the mall is a double benefit; take the kids shopping and stop in and let em burn off a little energy. "If he's get that left hook straightened out he'd be a good bowler."

It's not just about bowling. Eventually there will be laser tag, billiards, and an arcade too so something for everyone. These folks look like they've done this before. â€œWe've bowled a little bit." I thought so. So what's with the wiping the ball off? Bonnie Scott: â€œThereâ€™s oil on the lane and it leaves a track on the ball so you always wipe it off." I didn't know that.

That could help my average, so could that little bumper thing that comes up when the kids are bowling. Dennis: â€œWhen its their turn the bumpers come up, when it's your turn the bumpers will go down.â€ Rick Wells, "That's not fair, I want the bumpers too."

Mickey's is located in the old Service Merchandise space at Eastland Mall. It's open until 11 on weeknights until 2 AM Friday and Saturday nights.
