One minute, they're the stars of the show, the center of attention. But now, they're just a nuisance.

Whatever do you do with your leftover evergreen? Many Tulsa Christmas Trees will go out in a blaze of glory at the 62nd annual Burning of the Greens next Monday. Every year at the celebration in Johnson Park, the trees are burned in a humongous bonfire.

Barbie Raney with the Tulsa Park & Recreation Department, "The tradition is basically just a Tulsa tradition. If you get rid of your greenery by the 12th night after Christmas, you're bound to have good luck all year long." You can also mulch your trees.

You can drop them off at either Thoreau Demonstration Academy at 7370 East 71st or at Union Intermediate High School at 76th and Garnett.

The Burning of the Greens is at 7:15 PM Monday at Johnson Park at 61st and Riverside.
