DALLAS (AP) _ Patrick Simpson had 20 points and nine rebounds and Eric Castro added 16 points and 18 rebounds as Southern Methodist beat Oral Roberts 82-64 on Friday night.

SMU (5-4) limited Oral Roberts to an 31 percent shooting performance in the second half, enabling the Mustangs to pull away.

Oral Roberts (2-7) was dominated in the paint by the Mustangs, who compiled a 46-37 rebounding advantage and shot 53 percent in the contest.

Quinton Ross chipped in 14 points, six rebounds and five assists for SMU.

Oral Roberts was led by Markius Barnes' 21 points.
