OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Langston University officials broke ground for an apartment complex that will cater to single parents.
The $6 million complex will offer 160 one-and two-bedroom units that will permit parents to live on campus with their children. Elbert Jones, vice president of student affairs, said he's encountered too many single parents unable to come to Langston because they can't find housing that will accommodate children on campus. Housing is limited in the Langston community.
Two-parent families also will be eligible to live in the units. The new complex will feature a day-care facility, laundry facility and a convenience store.
