Fire destroys a home in Broken Arrow, and damages the house next door. Broken Arrow Police say the cause was a meth lab explosion.
Firefighters were called to a home at about 91st and 145th street around 3:15 Monday morning. They found the home engulfed in flames. The heat was so intense; it damaged the house next door.
Firefighters say it could have been much worse. BA Assistant Fire Chief Rick Morton, “These houses are pretty close together in this neighborhood and that causes an exposure problem anytime something like this happens, it doesn't take a whole lot to have the next house be in trouble also.â€
Firefighters ran an extra line and managed to beat back the flames. Damage is estimated at least $100,000.
No one was home when the fire broke out. Police say neighbors reported smelling a strange odor before the fire broke out.
