NEW YORK (AP) — The Nike ad created for the romantic comedy ``What Women Want'' may just end up on TV screens, too, the film's director says.
Nike's people created the spot for Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt's ad executive characters to pitch in the film, and director Nancy Meyers said she wouldn't be surprised if it appeared on television for real.
Meyers told reporters she came up with a Nike ad, but the company wasn't thrilled with it and wrote one of its own.
``They took the task really seriously,'' she said recently. ``They put a group of writers on it and I met with them and they worked on it, and that's what they came up with and I was very happy.
``It's very authentic.''
