STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ A committee made up of representatives of NCAA Division I schools has rejected Oklahoma State's request for a waiver of satisfactory progress rules for cornerback Alvin Porter.

Porter is a senior and hasn't played this season while questions about his academic record are answered.

The Division I Committee on Satisfactory Progress Waivers met Tuesday. The university learned of its decision Wednesday.

``The university will continue to do everything possible to resolve this issue and will exhaust any available appeals procedures,'' said Rick Allen, assistant athletic director for compliance.
