A Tulsa businessman has legal troubles after Tulsa Police recover $70,000 in stolen property. Uncle Herm's is a popular restaurant on East Pine, run by Herbert Howard.
Police say they recovered the stolen property from Howard's homes. Those items are now in the police property room while officers try to figure out where it all came from. Howard hasn't been arrested or charged. However, records show nearly $200,000 in stolen items was recovered from his home's 2 years ago. That case is still pending.
Records show Howard has been arrested 39 times, but has been convicted only twice in the 80's. Howard wouldn't comment for our story. He'll be in court next week on separate gun and stolen property charges.
His attorney tells the News on 6, Howard denies any of the property is stolen and says it all belongs to his family and some of the items were even Christmas presents. He says police are on a fishing expedition that's damaging a successful businessman. And he's threatening legal action to get the property back.
