Five Oklahoma police departments get US Justice Department funds
(OKLAHOMA CITY) (AP) -- Five Oklahoma communities will share more than $136,000 in grants from the US Justice Department.<br/><br/>The money comes from the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services
The Secure Our School program provides up to 50% of the total cost for municipalities to install metal detectors, locks, lighting and other equipment to help deter crime and violence.
The five Oklahoma communities are among 220 municipalities nationwide in 42 states to share $9.8-million in funding.
