OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Paint racing star Got Country Grip moves his career record to 13-13 with a win in the $25,000 Mister Lewis Memorial Handicap at Remington Park.
The Oklahoma-bred 4-year-old is trained by Brandon Parum of Jones and ridden by G.R. Carter.
Got Country Grip finished the 400-yard race Saturday night on a fast track in 20.17 seconds, one length ahead of Calista Corona. Rio Rojo Jess finished 3rd.
Got Country Grip, owned by Jimmy Maddux, is the two-time defending World Champion racing paint horse, as honored by the American Paint Horse Association. He was making his 2007 debut.
