SAPULPA, Okla. (AP) _ A Sapulpa man has been found guilty of first-degree manslaughter in the death of a man following an altercation at a bar.

A Creek County jury recommended a 30-year prison sentence for Daryl Wilson after finding him guilty late last week.

Wilson is scheduled to be sentenced February 7th.

He initially was charged with first-degree murder for allegedly causing the death of 30-year-old John Cox on a county road last June.

Cox was killed when a pickup truck driven by Wilson struck the victim following an altercation at a local bar.

Wilson claims he lost control of his vehicle when someone threw a rock at his truck and hit his windshield.
