STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma State safety Andre Sexton is being named a freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America.

Sexton led the Cowboys in tackles with 79 and is credited with 8 1/2 tackles for a loss plus three forced fumbles.

Conference coaches earlier voted him the Big 12 defensive freshman of the year.
