OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The image of the sun rising over a high plains river adorns an Oklahoma Centennial stamp going on sale Thursday.

Stamp designer Mike Larsen of Perkins created the scene.

The stamp also pays homage to the musical, "Oklahoma!," with the caption, "Oh, what a beautiful mornin."'

The US Postal Service and the state Centennial Commission will issue the 39-cent Oklahoma Statehood Stamp at all of the state's 567 post offices on Thursday.
