A Tulsa man is dead, the victim of a drowning in an Oklahoma lake.

It happened Tuesday afternoon at Taylor's Ferry Swim Beach on Fort Gibson Lake. Authorities say 19-year-old Brett Cook was swimming when he went under the water. He resurfaced once and went under again.

Cook's friends tried to rescue him, but couldn't. His body was recovered about 35 minutes later by the Oklahoma Lake Patrol.
