Authorities say it all started when 41 year-old Kenneth Allen Pitts of Claremore allegely robbed a Quik-Trip store at 193rd East Avenue and I-44.
Tulsa County Sheriff's deputies spotted Pitts' vehicle and gave chase, which quickly ended about three miles east of Catoosa on HIghway 412.
Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Tim Albin: "The suspect at that point ran out of gas, was on the side of the road, he had a weapon in the vehicle and was threatening to harm himself."
After almost 4 hours, Pitts exited his truck and was arrested.
Because of the standoff, both eastbound and westbound traffic on highway 412 had to be diverted onto Admiral Boulevard.
