MULDROW, Okla. (AP) _ A 24-year-old Sallisaw man was killed when his car ran off Interstate 40 and struck a tree, ejecting him from the vehicle.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the body of Michael McKinney was discovered about 4:20 pm Sunday. Investigators believe the accident happened about 2:30 Sunday morning while McKinney was attempting to enter I-40 westbound at exit 325 in Sequoyah County.
The patrol reports McKinney's car left the roadway and hit a tree before sliding down a 16-foot embankment. The OHP reports McKinney was ejected from the vehicle, which then rolled on top of him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
