Tulsa sex crimes detectives say someone tried to rape a 13-year old girl over the weekend, but they say it's too early to know if this is the work of Tulsa's serial rapist.

6 in the Morning reporter Omar Villafranca says the good news in this case is the teenage girl was able to get away from her attacker.

The assault happened Saturday evening near Seminole and Quaker. Tulsa Police say the girl was walking when a man grabbed her and forcefully took her to an abandoned house. There, he tried to sexually assault her. The girl managed to break free and ran to a nearby Albertson's where someone called police.

The suspect got away, but we do have a description. Tulsa Police are looking for a Hispanic male, wearing a red jacket and an OU hat. He was last seen driving away in a dark colored pickup truck. The serial rapist has been known to wear an OU hat, but police say it's too early tell if this is the work of the same man.

So far, Tulsa's serial rapist has attacked at least seven victims in two years, most of them children. Based on descriptions, police drew up some composite sketches of what they believe the man looks like. [Click here to see the composites.]

The rapist usually attacks his victims in their own homes. In almost every case, he enters through an unlocked window or door. Detectives say just the simple of act of locking up your windows can keep you and your loved ones from becoming a victim.

If you have any information for officers that could lead to an arrest, call Crimestoppers at 596-COPS. Remember, you don't have to give your name and you could earn a cash reward.
