HOUSTON (AP) -- The number of rigs actively exploring for oil and natural gas is down nationwide, but up in Oklahoma.

Houston-based Baker Hughes says the number of active rigs in the United States decreased by 5 this week while the number in Oklahoma increased by 2.

Of the other major oil- and gas-producing states, Colorado gained 6 rigs and California gained 3. Texas is down by 11, New Mexico by 5, Louisiana 4, Wyoming 3 and Alaska 1.
