Five hospital systems in Oklahoma City and Norman have decided to postpone elective, non-urgent surgeries during coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the state.

5 OKC, Norman Hospitals Postpone Elective, Non-Urgent Surgeries During Coronavirus Outbreak

Five hospital systems in Oklahoma City and Norman have decided to postpone elective, non-urgent surgeries during coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the state.

The hospitals include:

Integris,
Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City,
Norman Regional Health System,
OU Medicine (OU Medical Center, OU Medical Center Edmond and The Children's Hospital at OU Medicine) and
SSM Health St. Anthony.

Elective and non-urgent surgeries and procedures are classified as those that can be rescheduled to a future time and will not significantly impact the patient's health.

The hospitals said they will begin contacting patients as their cases become eligible for potential postponement.
