A one of a kind drive-thru COVID-19 testing site opened at a Southwest Oklahoma City Walmart on Monday.
In a statement, the Oklahoma City-County Health Department said this testing site was different than others because health care professionals and first responders don’t need to show any COVID-19 symptoms to get tested.
The appointment-only site is at the Walmart right off of Interstate 44 and Southwest 104th. The Health Department said it hopes this testing site will help ramp up local coronavirus testing capabilities for the next month.

Patients can visit the website to learn what COVID-19 symptoms are and to sign up for an appointment.
The website also has a slide-show that shows how the swab test is performed.
It’s important to note that The Oklahoma City-County Health Department did not host the testing site, but said it would process the coronavirus test. It said the test results should be available within 48 hours.
