Silver Alert Canceled For Missing Dewey County Woman

Authorities in Dewey County issued a Silver Alert for a missing woman late Friday morning.

89-year-old Lou Vanmeter was last seen at 7 a.m. Friday at her residence on Jennyville Road in Oakwood.

Vanmeter's clothing description is unknown, but her vehicle is described as a white 2011 Chevrolet Suburban with the Oklahoma license plate HOQ938.

The Dewey County Sheriff's Office said Vanmeter has dementia and may be driving herself to the Edmond/Oklahoma City area, possibly to Mercy Hospital.
