The ordinance, if passed by city councilors, will require face masks to be worn by all Tulsans in indoor public spaces and outdoor public spaces if the six feet of social distancing cannot be maintained.
There are exceptions to this mandate, including people with a medical condition, when eating at a restaurant or any place with food and drink, attending church, and for those under the age of 18.
If a person is found in violation of this mandate, they will first receive a warning. If the ordinance is violated again, however, a person could be subject to a misdemeanor offense and a fine of up to $100.
The ordinance will go to the city councilors on Tuesday.
