Chickasha Man Killed In McClain County Crash

A Chickasha man is dead and another man is critically injured after a crash Thursday night on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike in McClain County, troopers said.

The crash happened about 8:45 p.m. Thursday near Newcastle.

Darrell E. Hickman, 42, of Chickasha, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the passenger of a pickup.

The driver of the pickup was identified as Dustin D. Joyner, 39, of Chickasha. He was taken to OU Medical Center in critical condition.

Two vehicles were driving eastbound on the turnpike when one hit the pickup in the back which caused the pickup to flip an unknown number of times.

Both Joyner and Hickman were ejected from the vehicle.

The driver and the passenger in the first vehicle are teenagers and were not identified due to their ages. Neither were injured.

It is unclear if anyone were wearing seat belts, troopers said.
