Starting Monday, around 35,000 OKCPS students will be back to class virtually, where they will be for the next nine weeks.
The district says because of problems with the supply chain, their last shipment of mobile hotspots was expected to arrive over the weekend.
Any families who are still waiting for one, or do not have Wi-Fi for the first day Monday, need to reach out to their child's teacher or school.
Students and parents have two options to start class, E3 Online learning which is 100 percent virtual or teacher led remote learning.
The district says E3 Online learning is more self-paced and student led. Teacher led remote learning is where kids will work from home, but still interact with their teachers and classmates online.
Superintendent Sean McDaniel hopes that starting week one, teachers will be checking up on students to see how this very-different year is going for them.
"We would hope those things would include multiple times a week, a teacher reaching out to a student or a student reaching out to a teacher. Having a conversation and engaging in text or email," he said.
For school meals, grab and go breakfast and lunch will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. Families will need to provide proof of enrollment, and wear a face covering to pick up food.
