Veteran Salute: Lisa Smith

It's fair to say we have a lot of amazing people with equally amazing stories and we want to share them.

We're recognizing the men and women who have served our country.

On Aug. 31, we want to salute Navy veteran Lisa Smith.

After serving, Lisa found her peace in helping local foster dogs find their forever homes.

She's also trained a number of service dogs for veterans with PTSD.

While she is confined to a wheelchair from several health conditions, she doesn't let that stop her from moving.

When she's not training dogs or finding them homes, she's taking care of nearly a dozen of her own pups with the help of her veteran husband Terry.
