The El Reno Public School district says Etta Dale Junior High School will move to distance learning after one of it's students tested positive for COVID-19.

Students will learn from home from September 2 to September 15.

District leaders say the student accessed the football facility in addition to the school building.

The school will close completely for 48 hours for sanitation.

The district says it contacted students and staff in close contact with the student. That means anyone working within six feet of the student for more than 15 minutes.

Students and staff determined to be in close contact are asked to remain in quarantine for 14 days. Should anyone come down with symptoms, they should stay at home 10 days after the symptoms appear.

The district says they will continue to be proactive when it comes to student safety.

Etta Dale will return to in person learning on September 16th.
