Highway 28 over the Pensacola Dam will be getting some new improvements starting later in September.
Highway 28 is expected to close in both directions over the Pensacola Dam beginning Monday, September 14. The traffic will be detoured over to Highway 82 and to Highway 20.
This is a $14 million project that will repair the deck and the bridge structure.
The dam will reopen in spring of 2021, then they will begin working on the two spillway bridges. That is expected to wrap up later in the summer.
