Amazing Oklahoman: Daryl Thomas

Daryl Thomas is on a mission to offer a personal tribute to as many veterans and first responders as he can.

Thomas runs the Rustic Flags For Veterans Foundation in Bartlesville. He makes wooden American flags, sometimes with the help of his son.

“I am just a patriotic American who loves his country and wants to tell people who serve this country thank you,” Thomas said.

Each one takes days to make and they’re all gifted to veterans of the U.S. military, police departments and fire departments for free.
