Mounds Police have arrested a man after they said he came out of his home and shot an AR-15 rifle at a work crew.

Police Chief Antonio Porter said the suspect was drinking in his home said he started hearing things, so he opened his door and fired eight rounds from his AR-15 rifle.

Police said there was a work crew of about 10 men paving the road outside his home in Mounds near 8th Street and Bland Ave. They said Sturman had been drinking, heard sounds and fired shots for no apparent reason.

He shot two men in the arm and several bullets hit the work truck. Police said their injuries are considered non-life threatening.

“[He was] having some mental issues, some alcohol was involved, from that he just opened the door, walked out and started shooting,” Mounds Police Chief Antonio Porter said.

Sturman is currently being held at the Creek County Jail on several offenses, including shooting with intent to kill

Police said they said they’re grateful for several other departments that jumped in to help.
