Tulsa Police are searching for a suspect who they consider armed and dangerous following a double shooting that has killed one person.
Tulsa Police said that one person has died and another is in critical condition after being shot near Pine and Sheridan.
Neighbors said the gunshots were scary and they're thankful nobody else was hurt.
The scene unfolded right across the street from Juana’s home. She was eating some dinner around 4 p.m. when she heard what she thought were fireworks but turned out to be gunshots.
“I was very afraid,” Juana said in a translated interview.
Tulsa Police said people at two homes in the neighborhood had an ongoing dispute. They think a person who may not have lived in the neighborhood, came and shot the two victims, killing one and seriously hurting another.
“It’s an ongoing argument that spilled over to someone who didn’t necessarily live in the house, that took retribution on the neighbors,” said Lt. Brandon Watkins.
Juana said she had never talked to the people at the home and was shocked to learn someone has been killed.
“I saw on the news they had killed someone and I was very nervous,” she said.
Police said the man ran off and they have been able to gather helpful information from neighbors.
“Everybody here appears to be working together with Tulsa police while they’re on scene,” said Sgt. Matt Rose.
Juana said she is just glad nobody else was hurt.
“It scared me because it happened so close,” she said.
