Oklahoma City police arrested two suspects in connection with a homicide in the southwest part of the metro on Sunday.

Officers responded to a call of a car on fire just after 9 a.m. near the intersection of Southwest 104th Street and South Morgan Road. After the fire was extinguished, police said a body was found in the vehicle.

The State Medical Examiner's Office identified the body as 42-year-old Richard Pierce. Police said Pierce appeared to have sustained injuries consistent with homicide before the vehicle was set on fire.

Investigators said they developed information that led them to an apartment complex in northwest Oklahoma City where they arrested 28-year-old Johnathon Erickson and 27-year-old Kristina Franz on Wednesday.

Erickson and Franz were booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on a first-degree murder complaint.
