TPS Board Of Education Votes To Return Elementary Students To In-Person Classes 4-Days A Week

The Tulsa Public Schools Board of Education held a 4-3 vote to return to in-person classes four days a week for TPS elementary students. The decision came after a meeting that extended past 1:30 a.m. on Monday.

The Tulsa Public Schools Board of Education voted to return to in-person classes on a four-day week for TPS elementary students.

The vote came after a meeting that extended past 1:30 a.m. on Monday.

Pre-K & kindergarten will return on November 9 while 1st through 3rd grade would return on November 16.

The Board later added that 4th, 5th and some 6th-grade classes (if 6th-grade classes are held in an elementary school building) would return on November 30.

According to the new four-day week schedule, students would be in class on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Discussions regarding the return of 6th through 12th grade have been tabled until the Board meets again for a work session on October 19.
