The city of Tulsa has been chosen to host the NCAA Division 1 Men’s National Wrestling championships for the 2023 season.
The event will be held at the BOK center in downtown Tulsa.
“Tulsa is a sports town with a long lineage of wrestling success stories,” Mayor G.T. Bynum said. “A powerful community partnership came together to submit our bids to the NCAA for this event, and we can’t wait to welcome the teams and their fans to our vibrant city.”

Mike Mears, Chair of Tulsa Regional Tourism said,
“I am so proud of Tulsa Regional Tourism’s efforts to attract renowned events like this to Tulsa. More and more, our local business leaders are seeing the foundational nature of tourism for our economy, and events like this solidify that belief.”
Greg Gallant, Chair of Tulsa Sports Commission said,
“The Tulsa Sports Commission plays an important role in the financial aspect of inviting and hosting major sporting events in our region. This championship is not only a great deal for Tulsa financially, but it also elevates Tulsa’s credibility and status for future events.”
Ray Hoyt, President of Tulsa Regional Tourism said,
"NCAA events in Tulsa have already generated more than $27 million in economic impact. This single event is projected to deliver $17 million in additional economic impact, employing our local workforce, and helping to offset the tax burden for our residents. Tulsa is climbing the ranks as an American destination, and this selection positions Tulsa as a sports destination as well.”
Mike Holder, Director of Athletics, Oklahoma State University said,
“Oklahoma State University is honored to serve as host institution for the 2023 NCAA Wrestling Championships in Tulsa. OSU is synonomous with wrestling greatness and to play a role in bringing the Division I Championships to our great state is a historic moment for our school. We look forward to hosting this premiere championship event with our great partners – in the Tulsa Sports Commission and the BOK Center in Tulsa in 2023.”
