Veteran Salute: Dallas Smith

We're continuing to recognize veterans across Green Country who are making a difference in their communities.

Today we honor, Dallas Smith.

You may recognize the man standing next to Dallas as former News On 6 Chief Meteorologist Jim Giles.

Dallas and Jim entered the Air Force at the same time and went through basic training at Lackland.

They both went to weather school at Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois.

Dallas said one day of weather school in the military was like a week in college.

After weather school, Dallas was stationed at Fort Sill during his military service.

Dallas still watches the skies over Mounds.
