Group Of Tulsans Believed To Be Last People To See Missing Idaho Hiker

Law enforcement agencies in Idaho want to talk with a group of Tulsa hikers who may be able to help them find a missing woman.

Fern Baird went missing on October 19 in Sun Valley, Idaho and her family is searching for answers.

"Even in the slight chance that someone saw her or if someone has a friend who just came back from a hiking trip, I wanted to make sure we did our best to track them down,” said Baird’s cousin, Brian Krinsky.

Baird was last seen on October 19 by the concierge at the hotel she was staying at. She was wearing a grey jacket, black pants, and carrying a black fanny pack. Krinsky said they're really worried about her.

"The clock is really ticking, so there’s an urgency here that we want to find her that we want to find her and if she’s alive hopefully get to her in time,” said Krinsky.

The Blaine County Sheriff's Office said a group of hikers from Tulsa signed the trail's logbook around the same time as Baird.

They believe the group hiked either the West Fork drainage of Prairie Creek or to Prairie Lake on October 19.

"Fern Baird had checked in and after that there was a party of five and it’s not that legible, but what we are kind of making out is the last name is Adkins,” said Blaine County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Abaid.

Lt. Mike Abaid said they've been working with Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue to help locate Fern. They've also used several National Guard helicopters and three K-9 Units.

"People have gotten turned around and lost out there before,” said Lt. Abaid. “I mean it’s big country Idaho Mountains."

Krinsky has fond memories of his cousin. He said she loves to ski and lives near the mountains in Park City, Utah. He said she also developed her own company that sells yoga bags.

All they want is information that could help bring her home.

"This is one of the most loving, kind people I’ve ever met, and we just want to see her return safely home,” said Krinsky.

The Sheriff's Office asked if you have any information that could help or know a family who was recently hiking in Idaho that you call their office at (208)-578-3371.

The family also said they're offering a $25,000 reward for any information that leads to her return.
