After days of wicked weather, 5th Congressional District Candidate and State Senator Stephanie Bice hit the campaign trail again Thursday.
“Certainly, the ice during the last couple of days has changed our strategy a little bit because we would have hoped to have been out on doorsteps and dropping literature across the district, but we had to kind of revamp it a little bit,” Bice said.
Throughout the final days of the race, the Republican candidate is visiting several different areas within the 5th district.
Bice went from Oklahoma City to Shawnee and then back to Oklahoma City again Thursday.
The state senator met with voters, gave speeches and answered questions.
From storms to COVID-19, Bice said it’s been an unpredictable time to run for Congress.
“When COVID hit back in March, we had to reevaluate how we were going to connect with voters,” Bice said. “So we got creative and did some things online, some virtual meet and greets, some Facebook Live town halls, Zoom meetings and it was really effective. Now, as we’re getting down to the wire, we feel like that people are a little more comfortable, at least, being on a doorstep. We certainly want to make sure we’re being cautious of social distancing.”
News 9’s Storme Jones caught up with Bice’s opponent: Democratic Congresswoman Kendra Horn.
