Three people are accused of having children, drugs and a gun in a stolen car in Wagoner County.
The driver, 29-year-old Misha Estes of Muskogee, along with two passengers 43-year-old Ray Williams, Jr. of Muskogee and 28-year-old Amanda Moore of Cherokee County were arrested.
“So, this is an example of deputies being diligent and vigilant about watching what was going on out there,” said Wagoner County Sheriff Chris Elliott.
Elliott said the car was reported stolen from Tahlequah. He said inside the Pontiac were more than 20 grams of methamphetamine, some marijuana, a loaded gun and two children. Elliott said the young children belong to the driver, Estes, and there were no car seats.
“Those children weren’t in any immediate danger, but by the mere fact that the parent of the children was subjecting these children to being around methamphetamine and being in a stolen car and transporting a loaded firearm, that’s serious,” said Elliott.
One of the suspects, Williams, called News On 6 from jail Wednesday night. Williams said he and the other passenger, Moore, got a ride from Estes, who got the car from someone else. Williams claimed none of them knew the car was stolen and that the gun and drugs are not theirs.
Elliot said investigators are still looking into who each piece of evidence belongs to. Meanwhile, Elliot said the children with other relatives.
“So, we know the children are safe,” said Elliott. “DHS is doing a supplementary investigation into this case as well.”
All three suspects face different charges, ranging from possession of a stolen vehicle to drug trafficking to child endangerment and more.
As of Wednesday night, Estes has bonded out of jail, while Williams and Moore remain in jail.
