Bixby Public Schools said there are new positive COVID-19 cases at one of its elementary schools.
In a letter, district superintendent Rob Miller said Sunday that BPS has been "notified of several new positive cases among employees and students" at North Elementary School.
The new coronavirus cases have caused North Elementary School to transition to distance learning starting Monday, Nov. 9 and lasting through Friday, Nov. 20. The Thanksgiving holiday (Nov. 23-27) means the district anticipates the return of students at the elementary school on Monday, Nov. 30.
Sunday's announcement comes on the heels of Friday's announcement of ninth to twelfth grade students transitioning to distance learning. This will also begin Monday, Nov. 9.
