The Tulsa Veterans Day parade will be kicking off for the 102nd year in a row on Wednesday.

Floats will line the streets of Downtown Tulsa, and with that comes road closures. Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning Tulsa police will shut down East 3rd Street between South Cincinnati Avenue and South Kenosha Avenue to start the process of lining up the floats and parade acts.

By 10:30 police will have the parade route itself shut down. The parade will start at East 3rd Street and South Cincinnati Avenue and move west to South Boulder Avenue West, from there they will head east to South Boston Avenue and then up East 6th Street until they hit the end of the route at the VFW post at 6th and South Frankfurt Avenue.

The Parade can begin at 11 a.m. and these areas will stay blocked off from traffic until the parade is over and officially cleared. Event organizers project that it should end around 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

Organizers said they are excited to hold the parade because veterans need to be honored properly during such a trying year.
