The COVID-19 pandemic has pushed back multiple standardized tests, forcing many universities nationwide to re-evaluate admissions processes.

The University of Tulsa's Dean of Admissions Patricia DeBolt said that the university deiced to move to an ACT and SAT optional system this year due to the pandemic.

According to DeBolt, there are ways beyond test scores that students can stand out.

DeBolt said, "Submitting an essay even if it's short. There are usually some short answer questions on college applications. A resume is another optional opportunity."

The next round of ACT and SATs are scheduled to take place in 2021.
