Police said 24-year-old Christian Farnsworth turned himself into police custody Tuesday just before 3:30 p.m.
The girl's mother Rebekah Benjamin said she feels relieved that she's one step closer to justice.
"The first person I told was my daughter. I told her to come here and I told her, 'Hey they've got him, you don't have to worry.' And the look on her face...she just said, 'Really?' And I said, 'Yeah,' and she said, 'I'm so happy,'" Benjamin said.
Captain Jay Hastings with Bartlesville PD said the arrest happened the day after his department posted a photo of the man walking inside Walmart after Benjamin said he exposed himself. After that, he said information from the public flooded in.
"I would say within probably an hour people were calling us," Hastings said.
Hastings said the case now moves into the courtroom.
“Based on probable cause, he was arrested for indecent exposure, and that is a felony. We’ve been working with the district attorney's office and he’ll review the case tomorrow and decide what formal charges to file," he said.
Benjamin is also waiting on a call from the DA in order to proceed with the case. She said she knew her search would end in an arrest.
“Like I said on Friday, I wasn’t going to stop until he was caught and here it is, he’s caught," Benjamin said.
Once the case moves to the DA, they will decide whether to file charges against Farnsworth.
