A unique, new state motion was introduced Wednesday as a part of the Oklahoma state legislature’s first session.

The proposal, titled House Bill 1648, would entrust the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission to establish a “big foot hunting season.”

State lawmakers would prompt the commission to draft rules for the big foot hunting season, annual season dates and “create any necessary specific hunting licenses and fees.”

If ratified, the act would go into effect on Nov. 1, 2021.

The Oklahoma Legislature will meet for its first legislative session on Feb. 1.
