4 Broken Arrow Public Schools Shifting To Distance Learning

Four Broken Arrow Public Schools are shifting to distance learning on Friday due to high COVID-19 exposure within the district.

According to the BAPS website, the district currently has more than 1,600 teachers and students in quarantine due to COVID-19 exposure. Until Friday, the district has had all students back to in-person learning for almost three weeks for the spring semester of the 2020-2021 school year.

Due to the rapidly increasing cases, the district announced in a Facebook post that it would be shifting Broken Arrow High School, Freshman Academy, Centennial Middle School, and Liberty Elementary School students to virtual learning until Feb. 2

They mention that the buildings will be open for teachers and if a student that is not in mandated quarantine needs to come by for help, that it will be allowed.

BAPS said school lunches will be served every day from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. outside each closed school site so no student misses a meal.
