In a press conference Wednesday morning, police say Pridgeon is the one who called 911, asking that EMS be sent to the house.
Pridgeon made his initial appearance in court Wednesday afternoon where a plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf.
District Attorney Orville Loge has charged Pridgeon with six counts of first-degree murder, one count of shooting with intent to kill, and one count of possession of firearms after conviction or during probation.
Loge said he's talking to the family about a death sentence for Jarron Pridgeon, but no decision has been made. He also said he has never worked a case of this magnitude.
"Right now we're going to focus on the victims and the victims family and then we'll go forward,” Loge said.
Police say Pridgeon is suspected of shooting five children ranging in ages from one-nine years old. The family said Pridgeon was the father of three of those children. He also shot and killed his younger brother Javarion Lee and shot the children's mother Brittany Anderson. Brittany is alive and is in the hospital.
Flowers, balloons, and stuffed animals now line the porch outside the home. Some neighbors and people throughout the community stopped by to pay their respects.
"We heard the gunshots and we live down the road, so just as a mom it broke my heart," one neighbor told News on 6. Her daughter, Alyssa, told us it was her idea to bring her stuffed animals to the home. "I felt bad for the mother that lost her children so I decided I would grab a couple of stuffed animals and bring them here," Alyssa said.
"We just wanna show love and support right that now to everybody for the town of Muskogee in my family,” said Brittany’s cousin, Sweet Pea Hearn. "Just put everything in gods hands really that's what you got to do. I've been praying for Brittany and the family and praying for the kids."
Brittany's family is organizing a prayer vigil Wednesday night at 5:30 at the Muskogee Civic Center. There will also be a balloon release on Friday.
