Starting Friday, some Walmart and Sam’s Club locations are administering COVID-19 vaccines to those eligible in the phase the state is currently in.
22 states across the country are participating in giving out the doses, the full list of states can be found by Clicking Here.
Oklahoma has 43 stores participating across the state and anyone who is eligible by the Oklahoma State Department of Health phase plan and has an appointment can get their doses at one of the locations. Tulsa locations include the Walmart stores on Memorial and 81st and the Sam’s Club on Sheridan. The full list of stores can be found below.
Health and Wellness Director for Oklahoma Walmart Shannon Griggs said the partnership with the federal government is a huge step for their chain because there is a store within 10 miles of most residential areas, meaning this makes COVID-19 vaccines very easily accessible.
“90% of the country lives within a ten-mile radius of a Walmart and we are committed to helping people live better and healthier lives and we take that role very seriously,” Griggs said.
Griggs said they are ready to start getting vaccines into arms as quickly as possible.
“To know that we are helping our customers and patients possibly get back to some sort of normalcy in their life and help end the pandemic is truly a life-changing event,” Griggs said.
You can make your appointment at Walmart.com/covid or Samsclub.com/covid. You do not have to have a Sam’s Club membership to schedule your vaccine dose at Sam’s Club, this program is open to anyone.
