Oklahoma City Thunder Trade George Hill, Remain Active On Day Of NBA Trade Deadline

Of late, the Oklahoma City Thunder has earned a reputation of not putting the phone down if it heard a trade proposal it liked.

After dealing reserve guard Hamidou Diallo and veteran forward Trevor Ariza earlier this month, the Thunder is trading away point guard George Hill to the Philadelphia 76ers.

The trade news of Hill-to-Philadelphia was first reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Oklahoma City, Philadelphia and the New York Knicks are the teams reportedly involved in the trade. The Thunder is set to acquire center Tony Bradley as well as 2025 and 2026 second-round picks from the Sixers.

The Sixers are then set to deal forward (and former Thunder player) Terrance Ferguson to the New York Knicks while New York will send guard Austin Rivers to the Thunder and forward Ignas Brazdeikis to Philadelphia.

Hill, who started the season as OKC's starting point guard, suffered a sprain on his thumb in January which required surgery. While visible on the Thunder sideline during games, Hill has not seen the floor since the injury. Rookie Theo Maledon was leveled up to starting point guard in Hill's absence.

The addition of Bradley (5.5 points, 5.2 rebounds this season) to the Thunder roster now creates a logjam at the center position with veteran Al Horford and emerging 7-footer Moses Brown.

Rivers, who is averaging 7.3 points and shooting a stable 36.4 percent from 3-point range this season, hasn't suited up for the Knicks since Feb. 13 due, in part, to his being on paternity leave.

According to ESPN's Bobby Marks, the Thunder is now in line for 17 first-round and 17 second-round picks combined between the 2021 and 2027 NBA drafts.
