Sequoyah County Court Clerk Arrested, Facing Public Intoxication Charges

The Sequoyah County Court Clerk is facing charges of public intoxication, disturbing the peace and malicious injury to property.

On Tuesday, deputies arrested Gina Cox, who is the wife of the undersheriff. She was elected in November.

Deputies said it took them awhile to report the arrest because Cox was being combative and uncooperative while jail staff tried to complete the booking process.

Cox bonded out of jail the same day.
