The League of Women Voters of Oklahoma County is holding a virtual forum before a runoff for Oklahoma City Public Schools Board of Education chair.
Charles Henry and Paula Lewis will participate in the forum at 6 p.m. on Monday on the League of Women Voter's Facebook page.
Below are biographies of the candidates:
- Charles Henry has three children and is a product of the Oklahoma City Public Schools, graduating from Northwest Classen High School in 1987. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma, earning a B.A. in Political Science, minoring in Communications and History. His J.D. degree is from Texas Southern University. Henry is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and owns the Henry Law Firm. If elected, he will focus on structured discipline policy, closing the achievement gap, quality remediation, a safer return to school plan, and a commitment to students with special needs.
- Paula Lewis has two sons. One is a student in the Oklahoma City Public Schools, while the other is serving in the U.S. Army. She holds Master’s degree in business administration and graduated from OU’s health science program with a Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy. She is the founder of Quest Pediatric Therapy and works to unlock each child’s potential in her clinics. If elected, she will focus on increasing the quality of education, increasing pay and benefits for educators, bringing stability to the administration, removing barriers, and promoting equity in Oklahoma City Public schools.
The runoff election is April 6.
